TWD - Low and Luscious Chocolate Cheesecake

Margaret of Tea and Scones chose this week's Tuesdays with Dorie recipe, Low and Luscious Chocolate Cheesecake. I was excited about this one because a.) it's chocolate, and b.) it's cheesecake.

I didn't used to like cheesecake (the same could be said about burgers, and I now love them, too), but that was before Dorie Greenspan's Tall and Creamy Cheesecake. It won me over (and most everyone at work--they love that cheesecake so much that when I ask what they'd like me to make, it's always the cheesecake).

This chocolate cheesecake is so easy to make, and so low maintenance it doesn't even require a water bath. I made it as written, and baking it was completely uneventful. Yay for the absence of trauma!

I discovered that although I love chocolate and I love cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake doesn't make my heart beat faster. I like my chocolate chocolatier and my cheesecake cheesecakier (is that even a word?) And though my coworkers liked it, and ate it, they much prefer the Tall and Creamy.

Can you believe that the photo at the top of the post is the only one I have of this cheesecake?? But I have dozens of pictures like this one...

Thanks for an easy, tasty pick, Margaret!

Looks very good but I agree about the "chocolatiness". Maybe that's why Dorie suggested hot fudge sauce.

I agree about the cheesecake/chocolate combo. It was good, but not my fave. Now the tall and creamy cheesecake?? That's a whole other delicious story!!

Seems to be the consensus--not chocolaty enough and plain cheesecake, please! But it was good. And I love the kitty picture more! Schlurp.
Happy New Year!

I'll have to try the tall and creamy cheesecake. That sounds delicious. My cheesecake is being ignored in the fridge. Your cats are adorable.

Yeah, i thought it was tasty--but prefer the traditional type of cheesecake.

Love the kitties! I made the sauce to go on my cheesecake. I also added the cinnamon and espresso. I liked it, but hubby was so-so about it.

Love the picture of the kitties. :) After reading all of the posts on this I am going to have to add extra chocoalte when I make it! :)

Lack of chocolatey-ness seems to be a common complaint. Oh well, it was still good!

The kitties are so cute! I skipped this one and I missed the Tall & Creamy Cheesecake too. I'll definitely mark the Tall & Creamy as the one to make; it seems like that one was the favorite by far.

Your cats are sooo cute! I miss having pets.

Great job on the cheesecake. I'm not a huge cheesecake person, but I actually really enjoyed this one.
