No TWD, Will Maple Oatmeal Bread Suffice?

I found this glorious bread on my friend Margaret's website, Tea and Scones. It looked and sounded so good I was obsessed with making it and I wasn't disappointed when I finally made time for it. It has a light, lovely crumb and was a smashing success with my coworkers. Maple butter (Margaret has the recipe for you here) certainly doesn't hurt.

Although I planned to submit this bread for World Bread Day, I was on a plane and jetlagged on the 16th. So you get it, and my apologies, instead of the caramel pumpkin pie selected by Janell of Mortensen Family Memoirs for Tuesdays with Dorie. Expect another lame excuse next week, when I'll again be jetlagged but from coming home from our vacation.

You can find the recipe for this yummy bread here.

Jet-lag sounds like a perfectly legitimate excuse to me, and that beautiful maple oatmeal bread will more than make up for anything! :~)

Well, vacation is a good reason for jetlag, and for not baking along. The bread looks really great. :)

That bread looks really tempting, and I'm not even a big maple fan.

Jet lag really gets to me. Rest up!

You had me at maple oatmeal and then you doubly convinced me with maple butter! Somehow I missed this one on Margaret's blog, but now I desperately want to make it.

Have a great trip!! Can't wait to hear about it!

It's been weeks since I've made bread but I think it's because I haven't found a recipe that has inspired me. I love that there's maple syrup in this recipe and I think that tomorrow is going to be bread baking day!

I think I've made a couple of maple-oatmeal breads and love the combination. I find myself easily obsessed when it comes to maple recipes. Your bread looks fantastic.

After I left a comment on your other post, I remembered where you are right now. Hope the crazy strikes haven't marred your trip. It's hard to tell from news reports.
